NEUROFEEDBACK

Neurofeedback is a subdivision of Biofeedback. Neurofeedback gains information about brainwaves through an EEG connected to sensors, which gives information about brain waves to a computer and monitor. Neurofeedback is able to assess the functioning of the brain, locate the cause of the symptoms, and train the brain to function more effectively. Neurofeedback helps calm specific areas, which then allows individuals to process strong emotions, decrease anxiety and widens the ability to tolerate stress in the environment. Many clients need additional help with regulation before they can handle emotional stress in daily life and feelings that can arise in psychotherapy. Healing Hearts recommends Neurofeedback in many of these cases.

At Healing Hearts, Neurofeedback is helpful for the following conditions:

  • Inability to handle strong emotions
  • Emotionally reactive to the environment
  • Over-reaction of emotions
  • Flat Affect
  • Obsessive worries or fears
  • Poor eye contact
  • Aggressive behavior
  • Anxiety
  • Attachment-related issues
  • Trauma
  • Struggles with insight and perspective
  • Struggles with empathy and awareness of others

Healing Hearts assessment process is used to obtain information to ensure accurate treatment recommendations. Our assessments are made up of 3 appointments for clients under 18 and 2 appointments for adult clients.  An assessment is required to access any service or therapy at Healing Hearts Family Counseling Center.

NEUROFEEDBACK

Many clients need additional help with regulation before they can handle emotional stress in daily life and feelings that can arise in psychotherapy. Healing Hearts offers Neurofeedback in many of these cases.

All behaviors and emotions are based on brainwave functioning.  Neurofeedback helps calm specific areas, which then allows clients to process strong emotions, decrease anxiety and widens their ability to tolerate stress in their environment.  It observes the brain in action from moment to moment and exercises the brain to function to it’s fullest potential.
